Mr Bean's quirky road trip through the French countryside to the celebrity glamour of the Cannes Film Festival has grossed more than $3.8 million in its opening weekend at the Australian box office.
The exceptional figure makes Mr Bean's Holiday the highest grossing opening weekend feature for 2007, just ahead of The Pursuit of Happyness starring Will Smith.
The Pursuit of Happyness launched on January 11, grossing $3.5 million in its first weekend in Australian cinemas.
It's been 10 years since Mr Bean's first film opened in Australia, but the man known for his trademark tweed suits and closest companion Teddy, proved he's still got appeal Down Under.
Portrayed by English actor Rowan Atkinson for more than 15 years, Mr Bean has become famous around the globe.
